Summer!

What's going on at your libraries now that our all too brief warm season is here.

It's summer!  School's out, the days are longer, and the weather is often great!  What are you going to do with all this free daylight?

Spend more time at your library!

Why should you spend all that time at the library?

Well, aside from the usual: great books, audiobooks, videos and DVDs, magazines, internet access, wireless, storytimes, computer classes, comfortable chairs, and outstanding views, summer at the library means Summer Reading Programs.  As is our tradition, we have something for everyone!

Starting June 1st, all children from babies though rising 5th graders may sign up for the Children's Summer Reading Program, "Catch the Reading Bug".

Rising sixth through twelfth graders begin a "Summer Tour"  full of great books and great prizes with an ice cream social after school is out on May 22nd.

Adults (19 and older) can enter to win prizes in weekly drawings each time they read a book and fill out and return an entry slip in the adult version of Summer Reading, "Pollinate Your Mind".

Thoughout the summer there will be lots of of special programs.  You're sure to find several that you just can't pass up!  Check the Library Calendar on our website for events, dates, and times.

All Summer Reading Programs will end on July 31st.  Then, be sure to join us at the Woodland Park Public Library for our annual End of Summer Reading Celebration on Friday, August 1st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  We'll have music, games, prizes, food and fun.

So stop by either the Florissant Public Library or the Woodland Park Public Library for complete information and to sign up for any of our 2008 Summer Reading Programs.  It's not really summer without you!
