"I do not mean to suggest that our handsome, newly enlarged library is to be a headquarters of busy bookworms, old and young, routinely absorbing knowledge by the hour while birds sing outside and the Mets fight it out for last place in the National League. On the contrary, a good library is a joyful place where the imagination roams free, and life is actively enriched."

Tai Chi…… Gesundheit!

Do something good for yourself!

No, it’s not a symptom of a communicable disease, but it is contagious, and it’s sweeping Teller County!

Thanks to Teller County Public Health, residents of Teller County have myriad opportunities to learn and practice the Sun style of Tai Chi.

Tai Chi is a moving meditation based on martial arts.  It involves slow, gentle movement, conscious breathing and focus.  Sun style Tai Chi is recommended by the Arthritis foundation.  Practice of this style of Tai Chi may result in improved balance, pain relief, increased flexibility, and a better mood.

Classes are available, both free and paid, at many times and places throughout Teller County.  Call Teller County Health at 687-6416 for class schedules.

Your Library District is co-sponsoring free classes at both libraries.  Join us on Mondays at 10 and 11:15 a.m. at the Florissant Public Library, or on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Fridays at 9 a.m. at the Woodland Park Public Library.  Check the Library Calendar on our website to be sure of class dates and times.
