Building Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Leases Policy

Policy Statement
Rampart Library District is a good steward of taxpayer monies and uses its resources responsibly. Whenever possible, the District prefers to support our communities and economies by using local businesses and contractors for its projects.

Guidelines:

  • The District will seek out experienced contractors and businesses and will place importance on references and recommendations in the selection process. Another factor will be the contractor’s history with the District and if the District has successfully used the business in the past.
  • The District requires proof of insurance and license by the contractor/business.
  • Multiple quotes will be obtained whenever possible. They are required if the project is substantial (over $20,000).
  • All new leases, contracts and service agreements and disposition of existing leases must be reviewed by 2 staff members, 1 of whom should be the Director, and if deemed necessary, legal counsel. Any contracts above $20,000 will additionally be reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees.

Concerns about the Building Maintenance/Capital Projects/Leases Policy must be presented in writing with specifics to the Library Director. Please provide your name and contact information. The Rampart Library District Board may amend or supplement this policy from time to time without notice and reserves the right to do so.

Approved 06/12/2012. Revised 02/12/2019 and 02/14/2023.
