Circulation Library Assistant – Part Time.

Potential candidates for this position should possess a love of libraries, the community, and great costumer service skills.  Primary duties include front desk customer service, handling, processing and shelving library materials, assisting patrons with basic technology and informational inquiries, informing patrons of current library programs, facility monitoring and directing patrons to appropriate service areas.

Applicant must be able to work approximately 17 hours per week including some evenings and weekends.  This is a paraprofessional position. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience working with the public and with technology required.

Applicant must be able to work at both the Woodland Park and Florissant locations.

Youth Services Assistant – Full Time

Our team works closely with children, teens and their families to provide reader’s advisory, answer reference questions and assist with patron computer troubleshooting.  The successful candidate will have a love and knowledge of both children and teen literature, and will help foster a love of reading and literacy to children of all ages. He/she will help create and implement programming for ages 0-18 years and is comfortable performing storytimes (including finger plays, puppetry, songs and reading aloud) for toddlers and preschool aged children.  Youth Services Assistants join the Youth Services Manager in performing outreach to schools and community organizations by performing booktalks and promoting library services and programs.  Other duties include overseeing and maintaining the teen and children’s areas, shelving & prepping for weekly storytime crafts.

Applicant must be able to work 32-40 hours per week including weekends and some evenings.  High School diploma or GED is required.  College degree preferred.  Must have experience working with teens and children.
