RLD Delivery Service
We have a new service here at the library! If you are unable to access our physical library, we can bring your materials to you! Whether you are homebound, chronically ill, recovering from surgery, disabled, or unable to reach the library for any reason, be it long term or temporary, you deserve the same access to information and library materials as everyone else.
About the service:
Rampart Library District (RLD) Delivery Service provides library item delivery services at no cost to individuals who are members in good standing and who live within the Rampart Library District service area boundaries (RE-2). This service is open to all ages.
Guidelines
- Patron must be in good standing, meaning they have a current library card and no lost or damaged item fees on their account.
- If the patron does not have a library card, an application for a card can be filled out during the first delivery visit.
- Item limits will be the same as for all other patrons.
- Materials will be delivered to and picked up from each participant’s residence by library staff or volunteers.
- Patrons must protect all library materials while in their custody.
- Patrons will be charged the replacement cost for materials that are lost and/or damaged while in their care.
Patrons must be home and available to accept delivery; materials cannot be left unattended on porches or doorsteps. - Delivery service patrons must provide a safe and appropriate environment for staff members or volunteers at their residences.
- Staff or volunteers will not provide assistance with activities of daily living or advice on financial or personal matters.
- Staff or volunteers may choose not to enter a home, leave a home immediately, and/or recommend suspension of delivery service if any of the following conditions exist:
- Any person in the home presents threatening, obscene, or abusive language, gestures, or images.
- Any person in the home harasses the library representative.
- Any person in the home is engaging in illegal activity at the time of service.
- Any person in the home exhibits signs of illness that may endanger the health of the library representative.
- The home and/or property are unsafe or unsanitary.
RLD has the right to terminate this service to any individual who does not meet the terms and requirements as defined above.
