How does it work?

To use the makerspace you’ll need an active library card, and you’ll need to complete a safety orientation with us. Once you have received your badge at an in person orientation or by completing it online and signing an orientation acknowledgement, register for and complete certifications for each piece of equipment you desire to use. Check our events calendar or give us a call to find out dates and times for each course, and sign up!

The space is available for ages 6 and up, and because the makerspace is not staffed, all patrons ages 6-17 need to be with a certified adult at all times.

Once you have your safety badge and your certifications, it’s time to reserve the equipment! You will need to reserve the equipment in this space just like it’s a library meeting room. Keep in mind, you are reserving a machine and not the entire space. Other users may share a timeslot with you. You will also need to include set up and clean up time into your reservation, so make sure to plan ahead!

Complete the form below to reserve what you’d like to use:

You need to answer all the questions on the form. Please select several dates/times so we can avoid double booking the machines. A staff member will call or email you to confirm your appointment.

Machines that use consumable materials, like the 3D printers, cost $2 an hour to help us keep providing materials for you!

All equipment in the makerspace has a designated difficulty and risk level. Please keep this in mind when using the equipment to keep yourself safe!
